Why Can't God Be Your Best Friend ?

HAVE YOU EVER HAD A BEST FRIEND WHO ...

o.... you thought you could tell all of your secrets to? Maybe you thought that they would never tell anyone, after you "pinkie sweared." Then you find out that your "best friend" told waaaay too many people, and now EVERYONE knows your secret.

o .... didn't understand what you were going through? They cared more about their problems/drama than they did about you.

o.... wouldn't forgive you even though you were truly sorry. Maybe you were befriended and your "best friend" finally decided to forgive you a month later.

o.... wasn’t there to listen to you when you needed them the most. Maybe they were unavailable when you needed them.

BUT GOD WILL ....

o.... never tell your secrets to someone who He thought wasn't trustworthy. Sometimes God may give someone a clue to give you encouragement, because he cares about you that much.

o.... always understand what you are going through. He will never leave you, and make you feel like no one understands.

o.... forgive you as soon as you as for forgiveness. The Bible says that God forgets all of our sins as soon as we ask for forgiveness. Hebrews 8:12 ~ "And I will forgive their wickedness, and will never again remember their sins."

o....  always be there to listen to you, as long as you are willing to hear his reply. You can tell God ANYTHING, and He will never judge you. When you need someone to only listen to, or cry to, he is always there to listen.

TAMING THE TONGUE

I think that taming the tongue is one of the hardest things for us teenagers to control. A lot of times we try to say the smartest or meanest thing to someone but we don't consider the other person's feelings.

I just recently had that problem with taming the tongue because someone was putting my sister down and trying to call her out. I didn't necessarily want to hurt the girl's feelings, but I wanted her to realize what she said wasn't helping the situation. It was hilarious because I couldn't figure out the right words to say until I had gotten home. ( Don't you just hate that!!) I know a lot of us have had this experience. I told my mom and she told me that God didn't want me to speak when I wanted to speak. I do believe that because I didn't just want to tell her that her comment was unnecessary, I wanted to bring her out like she did my sister. I had to realize that if I did what she did, then I wouldn't have any room to correct her.

True Repentance

Imagine someone came up and smacked you in the face. They apologized to you and you truly forgave them. Then the next time you saw them, that person came back and smacked you in the face again. Even though they say sorry, you know by now that they don't really mean it.

Acts 20:26 ~ First to those in Damascus, then those in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and to the Gentiles also, I preached that they should repent and turn to God, and prove their repentance by their deeds.

Even though we ask forgiveness from God, there are some people who don't truly mean it. Some people repent, and go back doing the same thing that they asked forgiveness for. So we go to God and say we're sorry, but then the next day, we smack God in the face by doing the same thing we wanted forgiveness for. God knows if we are really saying sorry and if we aren't and he won't forgive us. No matter how much we cry, or cry out to God, we won't be forgiven unless we truly mean it.

Repent ~ ask for forgiveness, and turn away from

3 Ways to Tune Out Your Parents

1. Do what they ask you to do - If you do your chores, get good grades, assist them if they need help, they will never bother you for anything. You've already done everything they've asked, so the only way they would bother you, is if they're going to reward you.

2. Don't get attitudes - If you get upset with your parents give them a great fake smile, and walk away. If you get an attitude with them, they will only bother you even more. This will make you more upset, and cause unnecessary trouble. (trust me i know ☺)

3. Don't play the silent game - This doesn't work. Our parents won't care. Think about it... if we aren't asking them for stuff and aggravating them, that will only make them happier. This is a plan that will always backfire.

In school, you always here "She said she didn't like me ," or "He said I was a loser. All this stuff is irrelevelent. It's not important what everyone thinks about or says about. People are going to talk about you until the day you die.When you start to let what people say get to you, you start to change your character and you begin to try and please everyone that says something negative about you. Reality is you cant please everyone, you'll spend the rest of your life doing it because not everyone will like you.

You just have to find good friends to hang around that will like you for you. The people that don't like you, you have to learn how to brush them off, because they don't control you or your life.......you do.

Discipline

~ School has now started and it is time to start studying again :(. My encouragement to you today is to challenge yourself to be disciplined because without it, you can't be successful in life

~ Proverbs 13:18 - He who ignores discipline comes to poverty and shame, but whoever heeds correction is honored.

~ Even though becoming disciplined is very hard, it is possible. You'll know when you're disciplined because there will come a time when you are going to have to do something that you won't feel like doing at the time. Instead of sitting there saying that you aren't going to do it, you'll make up in your mind that no matter how you feel, you're going to do it anyway because you know it will benefit you. God honors people who make that choice and he will bless you greatly.

1.) Whatever your going through, God is still there to help you through it.

2.) Even though you go through trials and face hard problems, you still have to be positive, and praise God through it all.

3.) Our walk with God is like a race. When God gives us test, no matter how hard it is, we have to keep going and not quit. When we quit, we die spiritually, but when we perservere, we live.

The Right Thing

Tanya Tested

Tanya and Alexis have been friends since kindergarten and now they're in tenth grade. But ever since she started dating her boyfriend Jordan, she's been acting really weird and Tanya is determined to figure out what is going on. So she called Alexis on Saturday morning and see if she wanted to hang out.

Tanya : Hey Alexis. I was wondering if you wanted to go to the mall later?
Alexis : Um... I'm not feeling good right now, maybe we can hang out another time.

Tanya hears yelling in the background.

Tanya : Wait Alexis! Who is ...
Alexis : Look Tanya I have to go, I'll see you later.

Something seemed strange about Alexis's voice and Tanya didn't know if she should talk to someone about it or not. Since Tanya isn't the type of person who can keep secrets, she decided to tell her friend Greg that Monday.
Tanya found Greg at her locker and was eager to tell him what she knew.

Tell Someone, Tell God

Alot of times when people go through things, they like to keep that pain inside them. They don't want to tell anyone because they may feel that they'll be judged or looked down upon.

I can encourage you because I've had the exact same problems. I know how it feels to keep all the hurt, feelings, and emotions inside until you can't hold it in any longer. Thankfully God kept me from doing anything stupid, but some people do. They might take it out on other people or, they might take it out on themselves.

Solution : The best solution is to tell God. He is the one true person that you know will not judge you or ridicule you. Some people may think it's silly but when you try it, you will feel so relieved. Its almost as if you've been carrying this heavy bag on your back for a very long time and God just lifts it off of you and you can breathe now.



The Return

Hey guys !

Just got back from baby sitting for two weeks it was hard but God gave me patience. I know its been a while since I've posted, I really didn't have any time to write anything. It was 7 kids and their ages ranged from 1 to 8. Very challenging but possible.

So my encouragenment to you today is that anything is possible nothing is too hard. Also when you work hard you play hard. I worked very hard and I earned every penny I made ( as I was told :) ). So stay positive whatever challenge or assignment you have to complete and you will get through.

Our Life Has A Purpose

God put us on this earth for a specific purpose. That purpose is to live a life according to what God wants us to do. He has a great plan for all of our lives and none of us can live that plan if we're doing what we want to do.

Guys, you can't do whatever you want to do and expect your life to be like a stroll in the park because it doesn't work like that. If your parents give you advice on what not to do and you go do those things anyway your going to get in trouble no matter what, and that's exactly what God does. He leads us on the right path and then we start doing other things that he didn't tell us to do and we find ourselves in awful situations.

Comparison ~ When dealing with our lives its like using a television remote to work a computer. It won't work because that is not its purpose. It was designed to work a tv and we're waisting our time trying to use it for a computer.

So everyone, I encourage you to live to your best ability according to God. It won't be easy because we all make mistakes but we have to get back up and keep trying.

Avoid Fighting The Wrong Battle

For a long time I was fighting the wrong battle. When people did me wrong, I did the same thing to them. But then I learned that .....

1.)  We don't fight against flesh, we're supposed to fight against the spirit that is influencing that person. And the only way to win a spiritual battle, is to pray.

2.) God has already won every battle that we will face in life. So there's no need to fight a battle that's already been won. ( Even in physical fighting, just walk away. No one fights fair anymore, because now they're using guns and knives. You don't want to get seriously injured or die over a fight that could have been avoided.)

Beautiful

Believe you are beautiful. If you don't, then no one will and that's how they will treat you. Beauty also comes from inside of you.


1.) Smile ~ Be sincere and smile. You can encourage others by smiling even if you don't know.


2.) Help Others ~ Helping others shows a way of kindness. People will see that and like you for it. Even the littlest things will mean the most to anyone.


3.) Attitude ~ This is something I constantly struggle with, but also getting better at. One thing that I do to control my attitude is to take a HUGE breath. If that doesn't work, I walk away from the situation. If people see that you're walking around with an attitude all the time, they're not going to want to associate with you.


4.) Believe ~You have to believe in your heart that you are beautiful. No one can tell you that your ugly because they didn't create you and God makes no mistakes. Everything he has created is beautiful. If people look down on you, it's because you have something they don't, or they're walking around with a lot of bitterness in their heart. And if it's alot of poeple, they are usually trying to impress the cool crowd.

Friends Aren't Always What They Appear To Be

        Tanya's Misjudgement 

Tanya and Greg have been friends since kindergarten. They've always had each other's back, and almost never disappointed each other. But a few months ago, Tanya began to hang around the wrong crowd. She began to change and she didn't even know it.

Tanya : Look leave me alone and stay out of my business. I'm tired of you telling me what I should and shouldn't be doing.

Greg : I'm just trying to help you. Ever since you started hanging out with Jessica and her friends, you've been dissing me and you responsibilities.

Just when Tanya was about to answer, Jessica pulled up in her brand new Lexus that her parent bought her.

Jessica :  Hey Tanya ! Come on we're going to go hang out at the mall.

Even though Tanya really wanted to go hang out, she didn't have that kind of money. Her parents took out a lot of loans that they couldn't afford to pay back.

Tanya : I would love to, but I don't have any money right now.

Jessica : Don't worry about about, we'll take care of that.

Tanya : Really, thanks.

In a flash, Greg grabbed Tanya's arm and pulled her to the side

Greg : You're not really going to let her pay for everything are you ?

Tanya : Sure why not ?

Greg : Jessica isn't the type of person to start handing out friendly offers.

Tanya : You don't know her like I do. She's harmless. Now will you please let me go so I can leave.

Even though Greg was hurt, he couldn't stop her from making her own decision.

 

Fear

Fear only exist in your mind. It is also something you learned as you grew up. If you notice, not everyone is scared of the same thing. I might say that I love dogs, and you might say your scared of dogs. That is because you could think of them as wild animals, and I can think of them as harmless cuties.

~I am personally scared of any bug that crawls or flies except for ants (which I'm working on). One day we found a dead cockroach in our bathtub. None of the kids (including me) wanted to kill it because it looked disgusting. I began to tell myself that its DEAD and it couldn't crawl on me. Resulting in that, I found the guts to pick it up and put it in the trash. I told my mother and she said that if you look at it like a bear, then you will see it as a bear.~

Once you begin to see your fear as the smallest thing in the world, you can conquer ANYTHING.
